Some "Effectual" snapshots
« on: September 17, 2009, 12:24:09 AM »
Now I know a lot of you out there are purists when it comes to photography...but with all the fun programs on the market...I couldn't resist.  My mother had a birthday recently...and I pulled out an old program to show her what the world would look like if photographers thought like quilters....there's a bunch...so let's fly....

Crazy stuff Dave.  Some of those are very interesting and might make a cool collage.

Those are really cool Dave.  I usually give you hell for over-post processing, but those are really, really cool.  You could probably make a whole book of those.

So...what program did you use?  I'd like to give that a try!

it's an effect in Corel PhotoPaint 10 called Terrazzo....you pick the spot and the pattern, and it does the effect.
Nathan....good to see you again....I see by your posts that you might be changing jobs here soon....hope it all works out for you for the best.  I've been so bogged down with portrait photography since last May that it's killing me.  This week, I have 4 senior portraits, and a wedding in Yellowstone Park on saturday....then I have two senior portraits the next week and a wedding in Red Lodge on Saturday and a wedding at Zoo Montana on Sunday....then the next week I have 5 senior portraits, a 50th wedding anniversary and the following Saturday a wedding here in town.  All the weddings I've shot or will be shooting this summer are out of doors....so I purchased a couple more 580EX II flashes and a bunch of radio poppers....been working real well so far.  I just haven't even had a second to get out to shoot something that I want to shoot.  If I did, I probably wouldn't get to the post until sometime around Christmas break...it's been crazy...

Jeez Dave - that's a hell of a lot of work!  Are you still at the Grip too?  It's hard to imagine you'd be doing that much work with a full time day job to boot!

Yeah...I'm still here at the Grip.  They actually branched into doing a dealer bulletin once or twice a month as well as an e-newsletter.  Doing all the writing for those keeps me busy, that and the upkeep on both of the websites.  I'm spending most of my time these days writing or doing code...keeps me busy...pays the bills...well...most of them...ie the extra work on the side to try and get ahead a little...actually...it's just been paying for photo equipment and keeping my cars running....
