Two major glaciers I got to see while I was there.

1&2 Brady Glacier which I got to see every day as we left the cover to hit the fishing grounds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brady_Glacier

3.  Mendenhall Glacier is a 5 minute drive out of Juneau.

On the last day of the trip he had to take the boat out to meet the float plane because the fog was like pea soup.  It was a long 1 hour boat ride at 10 knots trying to avoid the blips on the radar.  This time we got to ride in a Beaver and when he took off we did a 270° turn and I swear he was trying to drag the wing.  IT WAS AWESOME!

The End.

Dude!   Time to print out some large landscape prints and put them on the wall!

Kewl!

I love beavers! (ahem)

But that's normal for a Canadian like me, the industrious, ingenious and peaceful beaver is the symbol of Canada, and the DeHavilland Beaver aircraft (world's most famous bush plane) was designed and manufactured in Canada, and as for the other beavers, well, I'll leave it at that!  (p)

Did that Beaver run on a turbine? Kenmore Air of Seattle does those conversions from the old radial engines to new Pratt & Witney turboprops and they rock!

The Otter that took us out was turbine and the Beaver was not.  Ward Air is we went with. http://www.wardair.com/

I have loved flying for as long as I can remember and have always had a thing for the Beavers and getting to ride in one (in the front seat too) was a dream come true.  I got a few pics of an Otter coming in and the last one is the Beaver that picked us up.  I have a lot of these in RAW but I suck at PS.
