Bad weather protection?
«

On many occasions I will be shooting and the weather takes a turn for the worse. Rain or even dust can be an issue. What are people using to protect their camera body and lens? I have a D3x and D300 I'd like to get some sort of "rain coat" for. I'm wondering what my options are that will not break the bank...

A bit ghetto, but its the cheapest solution I have, and it works.

The other thing I will do is drape the rain cover for my camera bag over the camera, only exposing the end of the lens. Then use the slots that are there for straps to pass through near the eye cup to see. Works in a pinch when I forget my plastic bag.

I use a clear shower cap when Im shooting in bad weather..That way I can compose my shots and not get the lens all covered in water spots..
Works great when Im shooting waterfalls, really helps with the spray..

I own a
Storm Jacket
and it works great and is affordable.
Our sponsor Think Tank also has a great solution called
Hydrophobia
. Expensive but looks like a very neat and highly functional product.

Wow that hydrophobia looks sweet! I may consider that, thanks for the heads up.
